Mariana Del Hoyo

Mariana Del Hoyo is a native of Montevideo, Uruguay. Her mother, a sculptor, stimulated her interest in the arts, and she worked with her father in graphic design.

Since her childhood she had a passion for Andean history and the magic of the Andean culture. Owing to this passion she became a resident of Cusco, Peru. In Cusco is where she developed her art reproducing petroglyphs, symbols, and archetypical images from ancient cultures.

“I admire the art and grace in the shaped art in petroglyphs, I love that these ancestral images can be in our home transmitting their messages through centuries and centuries.”

Today in her small store in Cusco, we can discover her art and appreciate the collection of rock art inspired paintings on recycled paper using natural organic pigments.

“The beautiful thing is that I have been able to combine my two passions: the painting and archaeology.”
